Psalms 82

Unjust Judgments Rebuked.

A Psalm of Asaph.

1 God takes His astand in
Lit the congregation of God
His own congregation;
He cjudges in the midst of the
Lit gods
,
erulers.
2How long will you fjudge unjustly
And gshow partiality to the wicked?
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.
3 iVindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
4 jRescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

5They kdo not know nor do they understand;
They lwalk about in darkness;
All the mfoundations of the earth are shaken.

Lit I, on my part
I osaid, “You are gods,
And all of you are psons of the Most High.
7Nevertheless qyou will die like men
And fall like any rone of the princes.”
8 sArise, O God, tjudge the earth!
For it is You who upossesses all the nations.
